HOW TO ARMENIA | PART 3
Can you believe it's May already? Whew, mid-year grind is gonna start in 3 weeks and I'm not ready for the "real" summer yet. So let me escape this weather by reminiscing Armenia's snow; Part 3 here we go! Day 2 was outside Yerevan and it was extra exciting because we were told that we might see snow. I mean, that would be a legit experience since the only snow encounter I had was at Ski Dubai (fake snow). Our day-three destination required a jacket, a scarf, and well, snow clothes (which we didn't have). The destination was located in the higher part of Armenia and the temperature was obviously lower compared to Yerevan; we're talking about 10 C and below. So let's get started, shall we?
1. ROAD TO LAKE SEVAN
It took about an hour and a half to get to the place but the journey wasn't boring at all. The view itself is worth it and definitely eye-candy.
2. SEVAN LAKE | SEVANAVANK
If you're not a fan of stairs, brace yourself. Lake Sevan is worth approximately 250 steps to get to the top, but the view is promising.
3. ROPEWAY TO TEGHENIS MOUNTAIN AND SKI RESORT
Best months to visit if you wanna witness the snow would be winter up till Mid April. The ropeway didn't have any lock (well duh, because ski boarders ride them) so I was freaking out the whole time knowing I was 70 feet above the ground, shivering, and overwhelmed at the same time. We were wearing the wrong clothes because we were not fully convinced that there was still snow; they were on sneakers and I, on the other hand, was wearing boots NOT made for the snow. But what the heck, that obviously didn't stop us. Haha! My sister was praying for it since we got to Armenia; that's her birthday wish.
That sums up our Day 2. I did my research and there was another ropeway with more snow during this time but it was 1 hour and a half away from where we were, and since we were already enjoying and my feet were numb, we decided to call it a day.
Day 2 transportation: 38000 AMD ($78) for 5 people. Entrance to ropeway: $4 per person
So if you ever visit, make sure to check these places out and these should be on top of your list! I hope you enjoyed this post and don't forget to message me if you are convinced to visit already. I'll hook you up with the best deal!
