LET'S EAT: EY MUCHACHAS
Hola. Cómó estás? estás bien? Okay, that's too much. Tacos, Nachos, and Quesadillas are the only Mexican food I am aware of. I guess that's what you get from living in the Middle East for a long time, all you know is shawarma, kebab, and mandi. Haha!
So when I heard Tom & Serg (yes they are real names, and yes it's a name of a restaurant) are expanding their empire called Muchachas, I knew it was going to be interesting. If you don't know yet, they also own The Sum Of Us, Common Grounds, and Brunswick.
I had a chance to visit the cantina yesterday when Pyong invited me to do little photoshoot for the launch of their Lunch Menu. Yas! I got to devour it first.
Ubicación. Well, the place is not your typical restaurant spot like Downtown or City Walk and far away from Dubai's busy life. It is located inside Holiday Inn Express, Safa Park. There's nothing much to see around the area except Gulf News and Emarat so don't worry, you're not lost. There's barely parking in the area so it's a little hassle if you're driving. Now if you don't own a car, Business Bay Metro is the closest and it is a 10-minute walk from there.
Cantina El Space . It's a laid-back latin hangout spot with super chill music and a very dancing vibe. I can't stress how BEAUTIFUL the interiors are! If you love anything pastel, this is your haven. They have multiple props that you can use along with your food shots to make the table fancy. You'll see pineapples on every table which they change daily because they also use it as one of the ingredients. Awesome right? No harm done with these cute pineapples. Also, almost everyone speaks Spanish and it sounds so soothing. Well for me at least, because boyfriend speaks Spanish and I love his accent.
Comida. I've heard a lot of things about their food and read some few reviews about being overrated and typical. Hey, we all have different tastebuds here and I tell you what, it didn't disappoint. I may not be a Mexican food eater but I know what's good, what's okay, and what's rubbish. Their serving is pretty okay; even if it looks tiny, it is filling. Yes, their food is pretty pricey. I won't disagree on that but I'm sure there are other restaurants with the same pricing and quantity. Here's the only thing I can suggest to make it fair for everyone: GO TRY IT YOURSELF.
So what's on El Menu? (price included for reference)

Let me tell you that I enjoyed my time so much and left with a happy tummy. Overall, it's 4/5 for me. And yes, I can't wait to brag about this place and drag my food buddies with me.
Have you visited already? How did you find Muchachas? If you recommend a mexican dish that you love so much, let me know so I can probably cook for Julian in the future! Haha.
I hope you guys liked this post and made you crave for Muchachas somehow. If you do, share some love: comment and spread the word!
