JULY FAVORITES 2016
July went by pretty quick and slow at the same time. My first two weeks were over the top! Julian was visiting the UAE and it was the best 2 weeks that made my year. After he left the country, I was bummed out for days but I know I have to get over it because we're meeting again very very soon... by faith.
A lot of things happened after that and when I say a lot, I mean blog meetings, food reviews, and interviews. Last month was also Garage's Blogger of The Year announcement — Bettina and I should be in Montreal, Canada right now however unfortunate things happened. There're no updates on our visa yet up till now but we trust God on this and we know that everything happens for a reason.
Moving on to my favorites — here are some happenings which I truly treasured, products I've been dying to get my hands on, goodies from brands and #MyDSS, and my current favorite series. This blog has a corresponding YouTube video so I can display more excitement haha. Watch it (here) and don't forget to subscribe. ;)
› Julian and I got featured on The Way We Met's social media platform. I posted our "Meeting Each Other For The First Time" video on Instagram and after few weeks, TWWM reached out asking for the video clip so they can post it on their end. If you don't know yet, TWWM is a platform of love stories about the way people met. I willingly shared the video with them and got so excited because she also summarized our story in just a paragraph. How even? It took me about a day to compose it. That next morning, I woke up to hundreds of messages requests, best wishes & prayers, and even likes & followers. It wasn't only on my end because it also happened to Julian. We were so overwhelmed and humbled by everyone's kind words despite the fact that they don't even know us. The best part we also found out that there are many more couples who's in the same set-up and our video lifted up their spirit and gave them hope that one day... they will be meeting the love of their life from thousands of miles away. We couldn't thank everyone enough but surely, we appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.
› STRANGER THINGS. If you haven't seen the series yet, well darling you are missing out. This is a Netflix Original Series and it is currently blowing everyone's mind. They nailed the 80's setup paired with the generation's soundtrack. Confession - I'm not a big fan of Sci-Fi/Thriller movies because it takes me out of my skin but I gave this an exception. Perfecto! If you have Netflix installed, then you're good to go but if you are like me who live in this deserted area where shows are limited, go to google and search Watch TV Series then click on the very first link. Google always answers ;) Now go binge-watch.
› Oh Pretty Thing! Going gaga with these dainty necklaces. Are you currently in hunt with beautiful necklaces for casual wear or date nights and look extra fab? This is the place to be. I got two necklaces from them called Lorraine and Madeleine. Lorraine is marble-patterned whilst Madeleine is very sweet-looking with its pastel green flowers. Both necklaces are perfect for light and dark outfits whether it is glam-up or dress-down which definitely make a statement. I have already paired the Lorraine necklace in one of my #ootd. You can shop and pay online (powered by Shopify) and delivery takes 2-3 days Get yours at ohprettything website and Instagram. (gift)
› Prescription Glasses from Al Attar Karama, Dubai. I'm not sure if this is good news because I finally got a new pair after 2 years, or a bad news because my grade got higher. Nonetheless, I only got the frame and prescription lenses for AED 80. That's a bargain! Plus I'm really diggin' the print and shape. It also stays on my tiny nose. That's a deal right there. I don't always go fancy trust me so thanks to Jean and Audrick for bringing me to Al Attar. To be honest, I could barely see so a new one is definitely necessary.
› Forever 21 super mini haul.Black is my go-to outfit — and yes, even during summer. #MyDSS is happening so I was given a budget to shop around and y'all know Forever 21 would be an automatic response. They are affordable and most of their collection at the moment is just what I "needed". I was in hunt of a new flowy summer dress (in black) and my heart obvs beat for the shop. I got this laced-open-back dress and I already have the #ootd in mind. I'm not gonna spoil it because that will be for a different blog!
I also got this cute rose-goldish sunnies from Forever 21. Okay, the color is hip for this season and it's definitely relaxing to look at. I was originally looking to purchase at Sunnies Studios, however, the design I want is still out of stock. Very timely, the same design was available at Forever 21 and much cheaper.
›The Rubz Arabia fever. You guys know I've been wearing my The Rubz Arabia bracelet ever since It was given to me by the brand. I have mine in Cameo Rose & Pink Gold that is made out of natural silicone and 316-grade stainless steel. Unlike any other silicon bracelet, this one is very comfy and elegant. What I actually wanted to share is that they also sent a matching rose-gold leather purse. I don't really use big wallets so the purse is just perfect for my cards and cash. › Etude House face masks and eye-patch. These face masks have been lying around my desk for months now except for the strawberry mask. I didn't even know I have these much because I don't use face masks. For me, it takes a lot of your time and the effort of making it stay in your face while it slides down is a hassle — well for me. I got the strawberry mask from Nicole and the rest were from my friend when she visited Korea.
› Marquee Letters from Salla. I am so in love with these you guys. It makes my room so pretty and the lights just make me want to get a little more sleep. It's perfect for your bedside table, make-up table, working table, or even in your living room really. Salla has also a range in red and these are affordable! 😍 More detailed description on my vlog. › Ban.do stationary addiction.Okay, I've been dying to get my hands on this Bando Agenda and it's definitely worth the wait. Ahhuahhh! I'm a sucker for notebooks. I barely write on most of them but this one, oh this one is gonna be my latest "dear diary". The design and stickers gave it a "slam book" feels back in the 90s. What I love about this is I don't have to wait till next year to write on it because they have a mid-year agenda and it starts this month. I chose the minimal design but if you love prints and patterns, they have a lot in range. You can find it at Virgin Megastore where I got it, Namshi.com, and Bloomingdales if I'm not mistaken. Ban.do not only sell stationary but they have everything girly. In fact, they have a summer collection towels, iPhone cases, and water bottles. Get yours at: www.bando.com
If you wanna see the inside of this notebook, there's a video up on my youtube channel.
What are your July favorites? Any interesting places you've been to or restaurant you visited? How about a sale product that you wanna share? Let me know so I can check it out too! Yas.
